Watch the Campaign Call for LTC funding reform

Over 200 people & organizations representing thousands of seniors, their families, and workers joined our virtual Campaign Call on October 31 to show their public support for funding reform in long-term care. Watch the recording of the call below.

They had a chance to hear from BC Seniors Advocate, Isobel Mackenzie on her latest report reviewing long-term care.

Her report shows that for-profit long-term care operators are making record profits while under-delivering care hours at alarming rates, and British Columbians – whether residents, family members of residents, or workers in long-term care homes - are paying for it. If you missed the call, you can watch a recording of it below.

Join BC Health Coalition members in taking action for long-term care funding reform! Sign up to send a postcard to Minister Dix showing your support for a provincial funding standard that:

  • Requires that funding for care be spent on care.
  • Improves accuracy and transparency of reporting to keep operators accountable for publicly funded care hours.
  • Ensures common employment conditions across the sector by standardizing wages, benefits and working conditions.
  • Is co-developed with key stakeholders in the long-term care sector including workers and their unions, resident and family councils, and seniors organizations.
