Bob Allison – Supporter of the BC Health Coalition

Bob AllisonBob Allison is an 80-year-old retired pastor living in North Vancouver. Bob became a major donor for the Health Coalition recently, because he is feeling increasingly concerned about the slow erosion to our public health care system.

Bob has been on the receiving end of some pretty major health services and treatments over the years, and says that he can’t imagine having to pay for those services out of his own pocket.

“I have two new knees and now walk without pain, I’ve had a hernia repaired, open heart surgery and a new coronary valve inserted, along with a stent. Today I feel pretty well and want to share my appreciation with others.”

“It seems like our Canadian system is being slowly chipped away at, and the government is trying to privatize certain parts of it. I don’t think that is at all fair, because then only people with money will be able to access good care.”

“I heard about the Coalition from a mail out I got a few years ago, and decided to become a donor to make sure you are getting the funds you need to do your important work. I would like to see more literature from the Health Coalition getting into more hands, because people need to know about the threats that are arising in Canada.”

“There are just so many other countries suffering from the lack of a public health care system, and we need to be more appreciative of what we’ve got here and participate in protecting it”.

We are sure glad you are here today Bob – and we thank you for your generous support of the BC Health Coalition!
